Brief statement of the job:The Project Manager is responsible and accountable for delivery of projects controlled by him/her, ensuring the quality of the delivery within the times promised to the customer. This responsibility includes managing day-to-day project escalations, planning for projects, risk mitigation; Project Managers are also responsible for deciding on scope changes requested by the customer. Key responsibilities:1. Developing project plans with project leaders and ensuring risks are mitigated effectively to ensure delivery is of top quality and in the time promised to the client: a) Planning project work and determining critical path items and ensuring these are always on track; supervising work of project leaders 2. Estimating resource needs and co-ordinating with other functions (along with BDO) 3. Supervising a set of project leaders and managing all escalations; interfacing with customers with respect to project delivery 4. Ensuring customer requirements are adequately factored in all projects on an on-going basis by participating in customer interactions 5. Responsible for quality of the software 6. Responsible for development of people in his/her teams by review, feedback and coaching Critical skills:1. Project management expertise – ability to plan tasks/activities; ability to review progress and make corrective changes; ability to prioritise 2. Ability to work well with a wide range of people, motivate them and provide constructive feedback 3. Communication skills for internal meetings and business presentations Organizational relationships:1. Reporting to the BDO/SBU delivery head 2. External relationship with key customer executives relating to delivery of projects 3. Internal relationship with onsite project managers, Account Managers, Solutions and Sales tracks Key performance indicators:1. Delivery of all projects under him/her 2. Balanced scorecard of hard (i.e., delivery failure in terms of time) and soft (i.e., people/customer satisfaction) measures
