Brief statement of the job:The Project Leader is responsible for managing the coding team relating to the project controlled by him/her; ensuring the quality of the delivery within the times promised to the customer. This responsibility includes managing day-to-day task planning, delegation and tracking; Escalates issues relating to delivery and scope changes to project managers Key responsibilities:1.Developing project including detailed allocation of tasks and monitoring progress on a day to day basis; escalating key issues to the project manager/BDO 2.Escalating all resource requirements/bottlenecks 3.Supervising a set of group leaders/programmers; interfacing with customers on the technical requirements of projects 4.Ensuring customer requirements are adequately factored in all projects on an on-going basis by participating in customer interactions 5.Escalating all scope changes requested by customer 6.Responsible for solving all technical problems faced by his/her teams; He/she is usually the last port of call in relation to technical problems 7.Manages client software provided in the course of development; responsible for configuration control 8.Responsible for the quality of the software and ensuring that quality processes in relation to code writing, debugging, testing and integration are complied with Critical skills:1.Good technical knowledge 2.Ability to plan tasks, delegate and review progress 3.Ability to work well with a wide range of people 4.Communication skills for internal meetings and business presentations Organizational relationships:1.Reporting to the Project manager/BDO 2.External relationship with customer counterparts relating to technical content of the project and delivery of the projects 3.Internal relationship with onsite project managers, solutions and technical tracks Key performance indicators:1.Delivery of the project under him/her (in terms of quality and timeliness) 2.Balanced scorecard of hard (i.e., delivery failure in terms of time) and soft (i.e., people) measures
